I'm fortunate enough to
have known two wonderful men in my life. My first
husband, Donald Loy (see my "memorial" link),
was part of my life for over 20 wonderful years.
After he tragically passed away from lung cancer, I
thought my life was over. Nothing held much meaning
for me. For the next three years "blackness
abounded" within me.
Then I was blessed enough to
meet another special person! John and I shared
mutual interests of square dancing and hot air ballooning
(crewing). After knowing one another for over a
year, we were married in June of 1996. When John
and I were married, my brother, Henry, an ordained
minister, gave us the great honor of officiating at our
wedding ceremony! John and I have been married for
over 6 years now and life is good again. John has
an easy-going personality and has been very patient with
me. I know there are times that I try his patience!
He's been very good for me.
Unfortunately, John, himself,
has suffered some serious health problems. In 1997,
just a year after we were married, he developed a serious
heart problem. His doctors even mentioned a heart
transplant! Thankfully, today, he has been
"stabilized" and is no longer facing such a
serious threat. While our days of square dancing
and ballooning are only memories, due to John's health,
we still enjoy visiting family and friends on occasion.
At present, we simply enjoy life and one another's
company.
John, thanks for all the love
and support you give me!
